Origin: Morocco

Rose geranium has a rosy-sweet citrus scent and is widely used in cosmetics, perfumes and soaps. It is a well-known hormone balancer, helping with both pre-menstrual tension in women and prostate problems in men.

It finds many uses in skincare. It helps clear and oxygenate congested and oily skin, helps in cases of acne, eczema, dermatitis, cellulitis and oedema and helps heal wounds, burns, bruises, ulcers and broken capillaries. It is also an effective insect repellent.

It makes an excellent ingredient added to base shampoo and base hair conditioner, especially when combined with essential oils of lavender and rosemary. It is also good for the treatment of head lice.

Use only in small amounts as too much can cause local dermatitis. Also best avoided during pregnancy.

Caution: Possible sensitization in some individuals. We recommend a patch test (dilute the essential oil in a cream or carrier oil first) before using any new skincare preparation. As with virtually all essential oils it should not be used neat on the skin nor be taken internally!
