Ho-wood essential oil

INCI: Cinnamomum camphora (ct linalool).
Oil obtained from steam distillation of bark and twigs then recitfied under vacuum and filter pressed.
Origin: China.

Ho-wood (linalol chemotype) is a variety of the camphor species that is much gentler and milder than the harsher and toxic safrol-containing varieties, while retaining the antibacterial and antifungal properties of camphor.
This makes it a valuable addition to base shampoos formulated for infected scalp conditions and also to base creams for treating fungal foot infections (in which it combines well with Fragonia).

It has a general tonic effect on the body, relieving fatigue, and soothing the mind and emotions. This makes it a worthy addition to base massage oils for general use or use after sports or other heavy physical exercise.

The calming, soothing scent of Ho-wood can be also be enjoyed in an aromaburner.

Caution: Possible sensitization in some individuals. We recommend a patch test (dilute the essential oil in a cream or carrier oil first) before using any new skincare preparation. As with virtually all essential oils it should not be used neat on the skin nor be taken internally!
