Aromatic Water - Marigold 

INCI: Calendula officinalis

The beautiful Calendula flowers opens at sunrise and close at sunset. Long associated with the sun and with magical vision. In England in the Middle Ages Calendula was one of the flowers dedicated to the Virgin Mary, hence its English name, Marigold.

This is one of the most highly-valued plants in the western herbal medicine tradition, with may versatile uses both internally and externally, particularly for reducing inflammation, cleansing and healing wounds and detoxification, being effective against many fungal infections. Herbalists will also prescribe it in some cases of menstrual irregularity and cysts of the breasts and ovaries.

Calendula aromatic water is excellent on its own as a lotion but also when added to other preparations for external use such as for oral hygiene as well as creams for eczema and fungal infections of the skin.

Caution: Calendula aromatic water should not be taken internally during pregnancy as it induces uterine contractions.
