Hydrolats

When essential oils are extracted from aromatic plant materials by steam distillation, the remaining water is called a hydrolat.

This water contains a number of water-soluble constituents of the plant and a small volume of residual essential oil. Hydrolats are therefore very mild in use.

Our hydrolats are free from preservatives, dispersants and other additives. They are safe to apply directly
on the skin and hair, for example as sprays to tone or cleanse the skin, as rinses after shampoo, in com-
presses or even added to the bath.

They can also be used instead of water in your own handmade skincare preparations when added to cream, shampoo, aloe vera gel, and clay masks. They can also be combined with our aromatic waters.
