Steam distillation of twigs and leaves.
Origin: Australia

Camphor-like odour with a woody-scent undertone. Eucalyptus radiata is gentle compared to the harsher E. globulus and is therefore better suited for children, the elderly and people who are exhausted and prone to frequent respiratory infections.
Best known as a respiratory decongestant, this oil also stimulates the immune and circulatory systems and useful for rheumatic aches and pains.

It can be diffused into the surrounding air using an aromabrander or an electric vapouriser such as the Aromastream.

Because this oil also has anti-inflammatory effects, it finds good use in skincare preparations such as creams, ointments, gels and balms for muscular aches and joint pains.

Caution: possible sensitization in some individuals. We recommend a patch test (dilute the essential oil in a cream or carrier oil first) before using any new skincare preparation. As with virtually all essential oils it should not be used neat on the skin nor be taken internally!
