Cinnamon leaf essential oil (organic)
INCI: Cinnamonum zeylanicum leaf oil.
Steam distilled organic leaves.
Origin: Sri Lanka.
A strengthening and warming oil with a warm-spicy, strong aroma. It finds a place in anti-rheumatic creams, ointments, gels etc. Traditionally used in the East for a variety of complaints, including colds, flu and digestive problems. Also used in soaps.
Can also be used in aromaburners
Caution: Cinnamon leaf oil is relatively non-toxic but possibly irritant especially to the mucous membranes. Due to its stimulant action it should be avoided during pregnancy. This oil is made from the leaves. We recommend avoiding Cinnamon essential oil made from the bark which is much more of an irritant and toxic to the skin
Possible sensitization in some individuals. We recommend a patch test (dilute the essential oil in a cream or carrier oil first) before using any new skincare preparation. As with virtually all essential oils it should not be used neat on the skin nor be taken internally!
