What makes Hazelnut Oil special?

• High proportion of astringent tannins: unlike most other nut and seed oils, hazelnut oil naturally contains astringent tannins. This unique property helps tighten pores, regulate excess sebum production, and soothe blemishes without stripping the skin of its natural moisture.

• Exceptional absorption rate (the "dry oil" effect): Hazelnut oil is exceptionally rich in essential fatty acids—specifically oleic acid (around 75–80%) and linoleic acid. Despite its high oleic content, it absorbs almost instantly into the skin, leaving a matte, velvety finish.

• High vitamin E and phytosterol content: packed with powerful natural antioxidants, it helps fight free radicals, promote collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and support natural cell renewal.

How to use:

a) As as an ingredient in natural skincare & hair care products.

     Recommended usage levels:

  - Facial serums & oils: 1% – 100%
  - Body oils & lotions: 2% – 20%
  - Creams, hand- and foot care: 2% – 10%
  - Hair care & leave-in treatments: 1% – 5%
  - Soaps & body washes: 3% – 10%

• Suitable applications: body butter, body lotion, body oil, body wash, foot cream, hand cream, facial moisturizers, anti-aging serums, hair oils, and scalp treatments.

• Formulation tip:  Hazelnut oil is heat stable and can be included in phase 1 of of emulstion production. However, to preserve the heat-sensitive vitamins and essential fatty acids, we recommend adding it to phase 3 (the cool-down phase, below 40°C). Avoid prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.

b) Direct use on skin

• Face and body oil: Smooth a few drops onto clean, damp skin as a lightweight daily moisturizer, or use as a targeted treatment for oily and combination areas.

c) Direct use on hair and scalp

• Scalp & hair serum: massage a small amount directly into the scalp as a pre-shampoo treatment, or distribute a drop or two through damp hair ends to tame frizz and add natural shine.

Packaging options:

Our organic, cold-pressed Hazelnut Oil is available in 30ml, 100ml, 250ml, 500ml, 1 liter, and 5kg sizes.

The 30ml and 100ml size comes in an amber glass bottle, the 30ml with a handy finger pump. The 5kg size is supplied in an HDPE jerrycan. All other sizes are packaged in UV-protective, recyclable amber PET bottles. Every bottle features a tamper-evident seal to ensure stability and quality during transit.

Cold-pressed Hazelnut oil is non-comedogenic and generally considered safe for cosmetic application.

Nut allergy: because Hazelnut oil is derived from tree nuts, individuals with known nut allergies should exercise caution. Consult you allergist or healthcare practitioner if in doubt, or conduct a patch test before applying to the skin.

Patch Test: apply a small drop of oil to the inner forearm or crook of the elbow. Wait 24 to 48 hours to check for any redness, itching, or irritation before applying to larger areas or the face. Discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs.

Storage: store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use to preserve freshness.
