Product Description
Organic Refined Shea Butter – a pure and natural emollient
Enhance your cosmetic product formulations and/or skincare routine with our silky-smooth organic, refined Shea Butter. Sourced from sustainably-cultivated and ethically traded African shea nuts, this butter undergoes a gentle, chemical-free refining process to remove its characteristic earthy scent, impurities, and raw color. The result? A smooth, pure, and highly stable white butter that retains all its deeply moisturizing properties without interfering with your custom scents or colors.
The Refined Advantage: The refining process strips away the heavy, natural latex elements found in raw shea butter, creating a much lighter, neutral-feeling, product that absorbs more easily.
Key Benefits for Skin and Hair:
• Deeply Hydrating & Moisturizing: Rich in essential fatty acids, it conserves moisture to soothe dry, cracked, or flaky skin, leaving it feeling velvety soft.
• Restores Hair Elasticity: Excellent as a deep conditioner, it helps repair dry and damaged hair, tames frizz, and coats the hair shaft to protect against heat styling. It is particularly beneficial for coarse, curly hair.
• Supports Skin Barrier Function: Packed with vitamins A and E, it helps protect the skin from environmental stressors while supporting natural elasticity.
• Non-Greasy Absorption: The refined texture absorbs smoothly into the skin, offering long-lasting hydration without a heavy, sticky residue.
How to Use:
a) In Cosmetic Formulations:
Our refined Shea butter is a wonderful ingredient for makers and formulators due to its neutral scent and clean color.
• Lotions & Creams: Melt gently and incorporate into the oil phase (typically at 3% to 5%).
• Body Butters & Balms: Use as a primary base at 10% to 80% to create rich, whipped textures.
• Soaps: Adds luxurious conditioning qualities and hardness to cold-process soap bars (use up to 10% to 15%).
b) As It Is:
• Daily Moisturizer: Scoop a small amount into your palms, rub your hands together to melt it with your body heat, and smooth it directly onto dry areas like elbows, knees, and heels.
• Hair & Scalp Mask: Take about one tablespoon of the butter, melt it and massage it into your scalp and through the ends of your hair, leave it for 20 minutes, and wash thoroughly.
• Lip & Hand Balm: Apply a tiny dab to chapped lips or dry cuticles for instant, soothing relief.
Note: despite being low on the comedogenic scale, refined shea butter is still a rich, occlusive seed fat. If you have naturally oily or acne-prone skin, using too much pure shea butter can leave a greasy film and trap excess sebum, potentially leading to breakouts.
Precautions:
Shea butter is derived from a tree nut. The nuts also contain naturally-occurring latex. Our Shea butter has been refined to remove impurities, including proteins that cause allergic reactions. However, individuals with severe nut or latex allergies should consult a medical professional or perform a patch test before use.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Exposure to high heat can cause melting and temporary graininess, though this does not affect its efficacy.
For External Use Only: This product is intended for topical cosmetic application.
Options:
Available in sealed plastic buckets of 250g, 500g, 1.5kg, 5kg and 25kg in a sealed bag and box
